We can represent a broad picture,
as in democracy when we can disagree and yet stay within the same room:
without violence, without threats, without name calling, without hating,
as in our loving relations when someone you cannot imagine life without
may, every once in a while, make you want to scream.
And as a creative person,
or a sensitive soul,
or a kind and generous human,
or occasionally as an irrational monster,
we can hold
and then accept
and then tolerate
and then maybe even care for
or possible even learn to love someone
or something that previously seemed contradictory to whom we were
that we thought we were taking the first steps into self-damnation.
Here are two landscapes.
The one above,
soft fog-bound phone-camera grabbed-shot through the windscreen
whilst knowing in that atmosphere and light
something would demand I released my shutter.
And then there is the razor sharp
high visually articulated detailed rendition
of another country path,
shot with another much later model phone-camera,
showing off its ability to define detail – a lot of detail in very high definition.
(When I was a DOP for commercials we would test every lens for its acutance
-its ability to see detail- and then for its sharpness -its ability to clearly define the detail)
These two pictures were shot 10 years apart
with me having lived thought many different situations, conditions
and still wishing to visually articulate my limited understanding of the world,
of life, of truth and beauty…wondering how much longer my path is.

Beautiful Robert - thank you. Relatable, human and educational - love it.
