PICTURES FROM THE COMPLETE FREEDOM OF TRUTH

For over 30 years I have filmed and photographed for the performing arts organisation Opera Circus (OC) and for 17 of those years I have done the same for their international youth arts programme, The Complete Freedom of Truth (TCFT). This week I have travelled to Lviv, Ukraine with the OC/TCFT Team to celebrate the launch of Lviv’s European City of Youth 2025 and to honour and congratulate their young people on their brave commitment to activism and change.

This week I am sharing some of the iconic images of youth activism taken for Opera Circus over the years from youth arts residencies in multiple countries, in particular in Italy and the Western Balkans as well as the committed involvement of the small town I live in, Bridport in West Dorset, UK.

Below are additional features behind the pay wall.

•1 PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK which features an image from my collection with an explanation about its origins.

•2 PART 5 of the easily accessible essay about Neoliberalism, the ideology that rules us from behind smoke and mirrors, with access to the previous 4 essays.

•Access to my podcast discussion/interview with the composer, conductor, mountain climber, Graham Treacher. And soon to come another podcast interview with Annabel Arden, having provided a beautifully lucid description of working as a director in opera but as with Graham, a discussion based in the meanings of beauty, responsibility, financial constraints and more.
